RMH (Ronald Mcdonald House)

Ronald McDonald House
RMH (Ronald McDonald House) is a charity that helps very sick children in hospital. The hospitals are in Auckland Christchurch and wellington. For many is away from their home town  so Ronald McDonald House allows families to stay together.
RMH provides resources to keep families and children healthy and happy.  RMH also provides food and beds plus fresh water. How would you feel if you were very sick and don’t know where to go. RMH is a home for families so they can stay close at no cost. Families are stronger when they are together. By staying at RMH parents can also communicate better with their child’s medical team and keep up with complicated treatment plans when needed. They can also focus on the health of their child, rather than grocery shopping cleaning or cooking meals. When your child is sick you want the best care possible even if it is hundreds or thousands of kilometres away. The RMH allows families to access a specialised medical treatment by providing a place to stay at no cost. At RMH families can enjoy
. Home cooked meals.
. Private bedrooms.
. Playrooms for children and so on.

By donating money you are helping sick children in need of medical treatment. RMH wants to do more.  They want to help children get better and give them a comfortable place to stay, with their family close by but they cannot do that without your help.

SAFE CHARITY

SAFE's vision

SAFE's aim is to make significant improvements in the lives of animals by raising awareness, challenging cruel practices, changing attitudes and fostering compassion so that they are no longer exploited or abused.
For over 80 years SAFE has been one of the strongest voices in New Zealand defending animals against cruelty and abuse. SAFE is a non-profit charitableorganisation financed solely through the goodwill of the community.
SAFE is dedicated to changing attitudes and nurturing compassionate values by educating the public about the inherent value of animals.

History

With a history spanning more than eight decades of campaigning on behalf of animals, SAFE continues to be at the forefront of exposing animal abuse within New Zealand and around the globe. In 1932, an anti- vivisection organisation called The Auckland Branch of the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection was formed in Auckland, New Zealand. The focus of the group broadened to incorporate other practices and eventually, in 1978, a name change was made and Save Animals From Experiments was launched.
Public awareness campaigns and political lobbying were the main means used to help expose and question the use of animals in cruel and needless experiments. In 1987, with further acknowledgement of cross-industry animal abuse en masse, the group again expanded it's outlook and a second and final name change was made. The word Experiments was changed to Exploitation.

Movie Review

Walking with the dinosaurs!
I like this movie because… It teaches me a lot about dinosaurs which is great because I find dinosaurs very interesting and it also has lots of adventure and danger in it. Some of the danger includes the dinosaurs having to get away from a massive fire as well as one of the main dinosaurs it is about nearly drowns in a rapid river. I would recommend this movie to someone who likes… Adventure, danger and dinosaurs. I would give this movie 9 out of 10 stars because out of all the movies I have watched it is one of my favourites. I think you should definitely watch it because it is awesome.

The Waterhole

I am terrified the numb shivery freezingwater awaits me but yet I have no idea. I dive in with a splash thought help get me out of here. The arctic water is freezing my brain. At least I was the first in so I had time to get use to the cold. But it was too cold so I could not get used to the water .I felt nothingness travel through my body. Could I stop it? No I was too far away from shore but I had to get out fast, or I might get hypothermia. I sprinted back to shore. Finally lying on the sharp rocks my shoes are socking luckily I was wearing woollen socks but the taunt is still in me.

Waterslide

It was the first day of Pudding Hill Camp and we had just been on a bush walk. The next activity was going on a HUMONGOUS water slide! And even better it was down a hill! I was so excited and it was nearly my turn.

Whoosh! I slid down at what seemed like the speed of light. Water sprayed in my face and I could hardly see. I did a turn so I didn’t hit a tyre and then nearly slid off the end. Going on it was super awesome and I would love to do it again.

OUR CAMP WRITING

Awesome Archery

There I was, there was a gentle breeze, a lovely warm breeze it was my turn, it was my first arrow, and I slowly pulled the string of the bow back. It felt like scissors, they were making marks on my fingers. Next thing I know I launched the razor

sharp arrow, and slowly was cutting through the air and it got in the orange center point a bulls-eye. Even though I've never done archery before I still got a bulls-eye.

At the start I was nerves and I was worried that everyone would laugh at me if I missed.  But I am still a little bit worried because I have one arrow left. I took the shot and I, Missed. My worries were gone no onelaughed at me. Then I went and got the arrows and went back to my cabin.
